Virtual Tour Established in 1959, the National College of Natural Medicine (NCNM) offers three graduate professional degrees in accredited and recognized programs that prepare graduates for licensed practice in many US states and Canadian provinces: The Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine (ND), a four-year program of clinical sciences and holistic methods of healing and disease prevention, instilled with the ancient principle of the healing power of nature, a four year Master of Science in Oriental Medicine (MSOM) degree and a four-year Master of Acupuncture degree. Dual degree options (ND/MSOM) are also offered, along with several naturopathic and classical Chinese medicine certificates - Homeopathic Medicine, Naturopathic Obstetric / Midwifery, Advanced Studies in Classical Chinese Medicine, Qigong, and Shiatsu.

The NCNM’s main campus sits on the edge of downtown Portland with easy access to public transportation (all students and staff receive a free pass). The College operates two large teaching clinics and more than thirteen other community clinics throughout the city and region. The First Avenue Natural Health Center is the primary location for the ND clinical program. The Pettygrove Classical Chinese Medicine Clinic provides primary clinical training for the MSOM program. Students of both the Chinese Medicine and Naturopathic Medicine programs participate in outreach through the many community clinics that include: Asian Health Service Center; East County Clinic - assisting Spanish speaking and migrant population; Hooper Detoxification Center - supporting chemical dependent adults and teens; Immune Enhancement Program - serving the immune compromised; In-Act - Court mandated intervention program for drugs & alcohol; Mercy and Wisdom Healing Center - serving the China Town/Old Town Community; Mt. Olivet Baptist Church; NAMI of Washington County - Supporting mental health; Outside-In - Caring for Homeless Youth; Portland Community College (New Columbia) - Life Challenged Families; Portland Community College (Sylvania) - college Faculty, Staff, and Students; Portland Community College (Workforce) - Women with Children, Dislocated Workers and the Portland Alternative Health Center - Supporting Addiction Recovery.
